Reina de las Flores (Queen of Flowers)
In the Catholic Church, May is traditionally recognized as the "Month of Mary" , and it's a time devoted to honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary , the mother of Jesus. This devotion dates back centuries and is deeply rooted in Catholic tradition. May is associated with spring, new life, and beauty —qualities symbolically connected to Mary’s purity, motherhood, and role in the life of the Church. The month is seen as a time of renewal and love, perfectly suited to honoring Mary’s gentle presence and faithful obedience. Since May is fast approaching, I was a part of Santacruzan-a grand procession featuring young women dressed in gowns, each representing biblical and historical Marian titles or virtues (e.g., Reyna Fe, Reyna Esperanza, Reyna Caridad) and my role was the Reina de las Flores (Queen of Flowers).
